Rank Tracker: Create a visibility chart in Google Data Studio

In this article I will guide you step by step through the process of creating a visibility chart of your domain in Google Data Studio.

Step 1: Go through the authorization process and select the project you want us to collect data from.

The whole process is described here.

Step 2: Add a line chart to the report.

Step 3: Set the data source to "Project - Visibility (p_vis_*)".

Step 4: Set the “Dimension” and “Sort” to time and select which data you want to show on the chart in “Metric”

For visualization you can select all variables with the prefix p_vis_*. If you select a variable with a different prefix, the system will not work properly because the prefix has to match the previously selected data source.

In this case, I chose the "p_vis_top10" option, which means that I will present the number of phrases in the TOP10 on the chart.

Variable

Interpretation

p_vis_x_y

np. p_vis_11_20

e.g. number of keywords for which the domain is visible on positions 11 - 20

p_vis_out50

number of keywords for which the domain is visible at positions greater than 50

p_vis_avg

p_vis_organic_visibility_lt

p_vis_organic_visibility

p_vis_budget

p_vis_wins

p_vis_lost

p_vis_no_change

history of decreases

history of unchanged positions

p_vis_top3

p_vis_top10

p_vis_top50

history of the number of keywords for which the domain is visible at positions 1 - 3

history of the number of keywords for which the domain is visible on positions 1 - 10

history of the number of keywords for which the domain is visible at positions 1 - 50

Step 5: Add the date picker and rename the variable.

Step 6: Display the finished chart.

Done! You have added a visibility chart to the report!
