What is content cannibalization?
Content cannibalization occurs when individual sub-pages of a site are visible in Google for the same phrases.
This is a situation that should be avoided, as cannibalization causes fluctuations and drops in the position of the entire site, with individual pages becoming competitors to each other.
Does my site have a content cannibalization problem?
If you want to investigate whether your site has a keyword cannibalization problem for specific phrases, go to the Keyword Cannibalization tool. In order to perform the analysis, you must have an established project. If you haven't set up a project so far, check out how to do it.
You will find out which subpages have a cannibalization problem and which key phrases are affected.
The Keyword Cannibalization tool checks whether the cannibalization problem is occurring on the words monitored in a given project.
How to use the Keyword Cannibalization tool?
The Keyword Cannibalization tool will allow you to check which sub-pages are showing up in Google for the same keywords. You can find it in the Monitoring module. Currently, the tool is only available as part of the Prime package. If you have a lower package, and you want to have access to them, you can purchase them as an add-on at the price of 99 PLN/msc. If you want to test them first, get back to us on chat :)
For analysis, select any project and date range for comparison.
And done - report generated :)
You can analyze each phrase in detail. Just click on the arrow on the right and you will get a detailed summary for the phrase you are interested in. This will tell you what position a particular URL occupied on each day of the previously selected date range. You will also be able to preview the dates on which the URL was reordered.
