In this article I will guide you step by step through the process of creating a competitor comparison table in Google Data Studio.

Step 1: Go through the authorization process and select the project you want us to collect data from.

The whole process is described here.

Step 2: Add a table to the report.

Step 3: Set the data source to "Project - Positions Competition (p_pos_com_*)".

Step 4: Set the most important parameters

  • dimension: p_pos_com_keyword, p_pos_com_domain, p_pos_com_domain_pos_prev_date, p_pos_com_domain_pos_date

  • metric: p_pos_com_* np. p_pos_com_domain_pos_prev, p_pos_com_domain_pos

The maximal monthly traffic that a domain can generate from the monitored keywords.

p_pos_com_organic_visibility

Estimated monthly traffic from organic search results, determined on the basis of visibility in the week under analysis (TOP3/10/50 keywords and individual positions of the website).

Date for the entry of the variable p_pos_com_domain_pos.

Dte for the entry of the variable p_pos_com_domain_pos_prev.

Step 5: Rename the variables and add the option to select the date range.

Step 6: Display the table.

And it's ready! You've added a comparison table to the report!
