In this article I will guide you step by step through the process of creating an increases or decreases table in Google Data Studio.

Step 1: Go through the authorization process and select the project you want us to collect data from.

The whole process is described here.

Step 2: Add a table to the report.

Step 3: Set the data source to "Project - Positions Increases (p_inc_*)" or "Project - Positions Decreases (p_dec_*)".

The choice of source depends on whether you want to present a table of increases or decreases. In this manual I will use the source for the increase table.

Step 4: Set the parameters

dimension: p_inc_keyword

data: p_inc_organic_pos,p_organic_pos_diff, p_inc_searches

Other variables that you can use in the table:

p_inc_searches

An average monthly number of searches of a given keyword in Google.

p_inc_cpc

An estimated amount to be paid for a click on a given keyword in Google Ads.

p_inc_keyword

Keyword

p_inc_organic_pos

The position of the website for a given keyword in Google organic search results.

p_inc_organic_pos_diff

A difference between the current website’s position for a given keyword and its positions the previous day.

p_inc_organic_visibility

Estimated monthly traffic from organic search results, determined on the basis of visibility in the week under analysis (TOP3/10/50 keywords and individual positions of the website).

p_inc_organic_visibility_diff

A change in estimated traffic from organic search results when compared to visibility the previous day.

p_inc_organic_url

URL visible for a given keyword.

_prev - Adding _prev to the variable means that the variable refers to the previous day, e.g. p_pos_organic_pos_prev is a domain entry for a given key phrase in organic search results in Google on the previous day.

Step 5: Add date range and rename variables.

Adding a date range will allow you to later check the keyword positions in the report for any day.

Rename the variables to make the report easier to understand.

Step 6: Display the table.

Done! You have added an increases table to your report in Google Data Studio!
